Composer-In-Residence
June Bonacich is a professor of composition and musicianship at the San Francisco Conservatory Precollege Academy. She is an alumna of the Conservatory, collegiate division where she won the “Kris Getz” award for chamber music two years in a row. She has been composing music for the Community Women’s Orchestra for around 10 years resulting in several world premiers. Her Concerto for Four Bassoons (composed at the request of Several CWO bassoon players), was featured on NPR’s Sate of the Arts with Jeffrey Freymann in 2015. Her music can be playful, and a bit quirky but accessible to all audiences.
